Arrrggghhh!!

I really should not do anything on my computer cos I always end up in trouble...

*deep breaths drying eyes*

This is what happened.

  • I stoopidly clicked on a download button for music and it installed something called "conduit"
  • While trying to get rid of the conduit browser I got desperate and ended up using the tools and options button on firefox to get rid of all navigation bars .. book marks the whole lot.. !!!! there is nothing there at all now.. except this sodding browser..
What do I do?

Can I get back my bookmarks when I have shut everything down?
How do I get navigation bar back??

Thanks in advance for your help..

I'm glad that you have got your menu bars back. In case anyone who uses Firefox has this problem in future, you might want to make a note of this.

Firstly, if your menu bar is missing, press Alt and this will bring it back.
Secondly, from the View option in the menu, select Toolbars. I have three toolbars in the list which appears. Menu, Navigation and Bookmarks. If any or all have no ticks against them, then click on the ones you want to use to add a tick.
And that, hopefully, is all you need to do.

G&P...

yay!   go you!!!

I don't think you are an idiot for for messing with your computer at all!   Tis the best way to learn about your computer & its programs.     I believe in button pressing frenzies, in right clicking rampages...  and this will sometimes result in  totally screwing up your pooter...   but then as you rectify stuff you really start to learn.

I don't think there's anything too serious you can do nowadays...   all the really vital stuff is hard to get to to play with.    Back in the early windows days it was dead easy to go and play in the registry..   which I wouldn't recommend you do.    I did...  and screwed up big time...  but learned a lot in the process!

Oh & regarding conduit & firefox & stuff...   tis why I stopped using Firefox... too many add ons & toolbars options for me.  Given a free reign Firefox would have had toolbars taking up half my screen!      So I only have FF as back up browser now.
