I received a letter today from my previous gas supplier npower.  It said I needed to get in touch with them immediately because Consumer Focus (the consumer watchdog) had said they'd overcharged me for gas up until I left them.

It gives me a website and a unique number to confirm my details and then they will send me a payment to cash at the post office.

I got all excited at getting some money back off these money grabbing gas utility companies.    That was until I saw the amount a whole piffling ÂĢ4.86 

it's not even worth the effort of claiming it

Pengy, are you sure the letter is genuine? Wouldn't the Gas company just show such a small refund on your next bill?

I left them in 2007 so they are no longer my gas supplier.  I've checked it out and yes it is genuine (they also have a phone number and it's the same from my previous bills when I was with npower).

it's just annoying that it's for such a small amount
