Yeeeucchhh.. I'd rather work than watch that pantomime.
Still, at least all her family's hard work paid off - they've been trying to get their foot in that door for years.

I agree......Just thought it might be nice to get an extra day off.....
Couldn't care less about any of them.
Couldn't care less about them. I wish the parasites would go away. I thought the country 'couldn't afford' this and the country couldn't afford that so surely we can't afford to give everyone a National Forelock Tugging Royalty Sycophancy Day*.
* Remember to move on the homeless first
Echoes of 1981? The country's messed up. Everyone except for the rich are getting poorer so let's wheel out the tin soldiers, Barbara Cartland dresses, pantomime carriages, pomp and circumstance and commemorative plates of Kate Middleton for the next generation of Daily Express readers to worship.

for the super rich to throw a great big party, while back slapping and hand clapping that they have their hands on this country - to do what they want with it

Zinc coating for all.
Many people (although apparently not on here) like having a monarchy and will enjoy the wedding.

Some of us on here do like having a monarchy and will look forward to a Royal Wedding.
I enjoy the pomp and ceremony of these Royal occasions. I always tune in for the Queen's birthday celebrations each year on the BBC.
Congratulations to William and Kate.
I'm a romantic, at heart.

I just want to see the frock. Don't really care about the rest of it!
BBC news is in Prince Charles' local pharmacy interviewing the staff. WTF??
They keep sending people up and down the country to interview certain individuals and they all just say the same thing...

I would interpret that to mean "It's a great day for me....... and my evil henchmen......... and henchwomen too."
Well it's certainly pushed the torture issue off the news, great timing.I'd still like to smack plastic faced Cameron though.
What bad news are they burying today, then?

Nothing like burying bad news with a more supposed interesting topic I hear he's given her his mother's ring personally as it came from such a disastrous marriage I wouldn't want it, I have wanted a nice shiny new one. On the plus side though, he's saved the country several thousand by not buying new so we don't have to cough up

Cameron has agreed to pay millions in compensation to the British residents who were tortured at Camp Gitmo by the Americans with apparently British knowledge.Reference:

I knew that, though. Maybe there's something even worse lurking at the bottom of the news agenda..
There is! Database abuse, Legal Aid, CIB for starters.
That's stuff we already know, though. Maybe it's just because "Call Me Dave" wants us all to forget what a shite year we've got coming. Arranged marriage? Well, politically expedient, anyway.

true but we're not going to be ruminating on that when there's a royal wedding to get ready for hope you've got your hat sorted as I'm sure your invite will be in the post
I'm glad they have used Diana's ring
I'm sure we will be sick of hearing about this very soon [brain-washed]

Kate's Dad is going to have to seriously get some public speaking practice in before the wedding

I thought that but my first reaction was "ooh I'd want a new one "
Aww I thought it was lovely that he gave her the sapphire ring. I feel so sorry for them though, they will be hounded and picked apart by the press and news channels.
Well as Charlie boy himself said they're married already they just haven't been churched. Well that's my interpretation anyway

I love all the pomp - but I also can't wait for the national holiday that we are bound to have.
I'm not a Royalist and would never want to get married myself, but in a way I am pleased for them both, after all Wills had a shite childhood to go through in the public eye (mother's death), nowt wrong with seeing 2 people in love and wanting to be together. I just hope she realises how much her life will change as from today and if she is strong enough to face the immense pressure she will be under now. One last thing Kate is well fit!
