No it's just old and hasn't aged too well. A bit like a certain horror film some clown on here subjected everyone to not so long ago
I didn't subject anything darling! (in case you haven't noticed I'm trying to sound like a pompous arse). I merely 'suggested'.

You were lucky, I almost did another 'Rawky Horror Show' last night for 'Anaconda', but that film is so dire that I didn't bother.........darling.

But seriously now... I have just finished a fab book , semi autobiographical about nurse training in Leeds in the 1950s. I thought it was great and couldn't put it down, I am now reading one about nursing in WW2. There is a theme here.,..
Are you really Issy?
That must be interesting...

What are the books called?

That was almost a girly "why are you ratbags men ignoring me" flounce...
Except I am crap at staying affronted.

They aren't particularly great works of writing.. the first is called - Yes Sister ( oh er matron)

The second is called " A Girl Called Thursday". That is almost cheesy but it is set in Haslar in the second world war ( naval hospital in Portsmouth) and is about a VAD and her experiences there.

I love books about real people and in particular how they cope in times of adversity....

I am currently reading:

Heartstone by Clive Sansom
Black Dog by Stephen Booth
A Cure For All Diseases by Reginald Hill
and on my iPhone, when I'm travelling, I'm reading
Roseanna by Maj Sjowall and Per Wahloo.

Books I have just finished include:

Dust of Dreams by Steven Erikson
The Last Temptation by Val McDermid.

I'm also attempting to at least skim through multiple books and articles for my counselling course.
