Me too......21st December!  He normally doesn't get anything really special for his bday and we only ever have a small party at home or take him, his brother and his best friend out somewhere but this year my OH is insisting we give him a proper party in the Lazer Quest place thats just opened.  £10 each kid and you have to pay a minimum of 12 wether 12 goes or not so I'm not looking forward to forking out that kind of ridiculous money before xmas but there won't be any more parties for him after this year.

yep...  me too.   Alfie's!  he'll be 13 on Friday.

He gets very cross if christmas is mentioned before his birthday.

Too right - no wonder parents feel pressurised to feed their little angels' demands, when they're bombarded with weeks of commercialised crap long before the actual event.

Well yes, its how you go about it, if its a problem some people face, its knowing the best way to handle the demands commercialism may bring.
