I like a good Christmas log.
Ours is a red moose on a door wreath which we hang in the living room- he's called marvin!
He's currently in hibernation but I've heard him stirring lately, I think he's getting ready to come out!

ok... if I must have a favourite...
mine is a fabulously tacky & annoying little xmas tree called Douglas Fir. Its got a motion sensor in it.. and when you move near it it suddenly starts to dance (& it opens its eyes and they glow) and it sings "Jingle Bell Rock"
Hubby hates it

Ditty, we had Douglas Fir too but I think ours was a bit faulty - he had a lisp
My sister has that tree too. She's had it for years ...........I remember her grand daughter seeing it for the first time when she was about nine months old. She screamed blue murder and I swear it scarred her for life.

i went into a garden centre near me recently and they had a huge model villiage of all those little twee ceramic houses, churches and fair ground rides that move and light up. OMG it was so christmassssssy. I dont like them, but in this setting it was like being 5 years old again, they did it really really well and it was HUGE!!! we were in there for hours just looking at them and spotting all the tiny details going on inside the houses and shops.
awwwwwwww
awwwwwwww
hahahahahahaha!
I am loving that there are so many people that have a Douglas Fir!
am a bit jellus that mine doesn't have a lisp though!

teehee - I am loving all the Xmas thoughts. I love the tacky Xmas decorations that sing and make a lot of noise
My own favourite is a penguin family that sings deck the whole with boughs of holly and the baby waggles its btm in time to the music.
I am afraid that at Christmas in my house good taste goes out of the window and the more colours and tack the better.
I wasn't really up to the full monty last year and just about had a tree and a few trimmings up.
This year -well it will be different. My poor OH has never really got Xmas and blanched when I told him the tree would be up on December 1st and the Xmas music would be loud!

My favourite is the Christmas Angel that goes on top of the tree....it was made by my 20 year old son when he was at nursery from a paper plate...he was(is) left handed and couldn't draw if his life depended on it so it has the most evil looking face of any angel i've ever seen.
We drag it out every year and re-use it.

I dont put up decoration/tree etc now but still use my nativity set with a few other bits and bobs to make it feel like Christmas

Croc that is lovely and very meaningful ..true Christmas spirit Reference:
but it has to be silver
Silver tinsel it is for me too, And silver beads! Was wrapping presents last night and i started getting excited and looking forward to putting my tree up
I love Christmas but I don't do tinsel
Every year I have a theme and this year it's purple and silver.
My fave decorations are the one's I bought the other day. Little white doves you clip onto your tree.

At the risk of everyone hating me I have to admit I abhor tinsel But I know everyone has their own taste I also hate coloured lights and people who put their window lights on will nilly.
This year I'm throwing out the tree I've had for about 5 years and replacing with with a cream tree with only thousands of lights on it and a strategically placed gold bauble or two. Nothing else on the tree. Oh actually something on top hmmm will have to think about what. Normally I'd have the tree covered in alsorts then when visit people and see how much thought went into their tree so I'm going to be patient this year and do it properly and colour code it with the living room!
I do my mums tree first and spend hours doing it because every year she goes mental in the xmas shop and buys alsorts of light up santas etc so her living room is like a grotto. But it also means she usually has too much and I end up with a few pieces to take home

Lights. Loads and loads of lights.
You can never ever have too many lights. If I had my way I would have fairy lights adorning my house all year round.
I have a Santa sitting on a gold half moon that a friend sent me from Canada, oh ten years ago now. He gets a good spot every year, although maybe not this year as I bought a white fibre optic tree in the sales so I dunno if it'll take the weight of the big fella.
At home home we have a gold star with an angel that has been going up every year for as long as I can remember and balls with are names on them. Must get his nibbs a named ball

We just shot all the Christmas cards on the wall with blutac. That does us.

I have just painted my nails deep purple with silver frosted tips!I can confirm its a good colour combo!
(& yes... I am a bit bored... and I will probably take it off later tonight & go for something more conservative)
