I've seen that programme come up when I'm flicking through channels but never watched it. Caught a glimpse around a couple a weeks ago where I heard/learnt that someone on that show had died. The crew seemed devastated, as everyone is at a passing.

I think the Cornellia Marie is supposed to be back next season, with both Jake and Josh and a new Captain... it's not going to be the same without Phil

I watch it all the time.  Was shocked when I heard he died, it was about a year ago wasn't it? 

Having said that he was one of the unhealthiest people I've ever seen.  Did nothing but smoke and drink coffee and stayed awake 24/7.  He broke a rib once that punctured his lung and the crew had to convince him to go to hosp when he started coughing up blood

I heard last year Dirk(  @ that name), but I often lurk on the Deadliest Catch forum. There was a bit of trouble with the North Western and The Time Bandit not signing for this year, think it's all sorted now.

 Phil lived life on the edge, but he was one of my favourites, I'm not sure if the boat and it's new Captain will be the same, even with Josh and Jake there  Rumour is they will be back next year 

ah he was a lovely guy, don't get me wrong.  a real bloke's bloke, but genuinely nice.

To be honest I haven't seen an ep since, last series I think it was.  I can't seem to catch it anywhere (pardon the pun).  Who's the new captain do they know?  is it one of the sons or do they sell this boat or how do they do it?

I'm not sure if you can catch up on the Discovery Channel Deadliest Catch site, I l know they used to do episodes. The new Captain is Derrick Ray, he was took the boat on it's last haul when Phil died, Phil only co owned the boat and I'm guessing Jake and Josh will have probably inherited his  his half, Jake and Josh will be in next seasons episodes, I'm sure one of the boys will eventually want to take over the Captian's chair, probably Jake, but with his track record of drugs and drink, maybe the other owner doesn't think he's ready yet and to be honest Phil didn't think he was either.

Thanks for that Dame Ann, I didn't know he co-owned the boat.  It'll be interesting to see what happens.  I'm sure I'll catch the repeats some where.  When ever I check in it seems to be one I've already seen

Any other news or scandals with any of the other boats?  There's usually one that isn't getting good hauls.

I'm sure you'll be able to catch up with this season when the new one comes out, Discovery normally show the previous seasons episodes before the new episodes.

The Time Bandit was being sued by Discovery for $3 million because they backed out of their contract, Sig on the North Western backed the Hillstrands and they were all not going to appear. Seems that's now been sorted for next season, and nothing else seems to have happened. Sigs still moaning, Edgar wants to leave and Keith is still a male menopausal fool   oh and Captain Bill of the Kodiak is a right royal pain in the ar$e, 

Be warned when you catch up with this years you'll need loads and loads of tissues, it follows Phil from his stroke up until his death in hospital
