The Lib Dem panellist is certainly trying to reinvent himself.

Not mentioning at all that giving prisoners the vote was actually Lib Dem policy and in the Lib Dem manifesto.  Giving the impression that he's broadly opposed to prisoners having the vote must go down better with his new Tory masters.  Or it could be yet another instance where the Lib Dems have just happened to have changed their minds!

They've been brainwashed by those nasty tories didn't you know?
Maybe prom but don't forget that they didn't win the election, so have to compromise!  Oh and if you don't like them chucking out almost all their manifesto and in many cases doing the opposite to what they promised voters, you just don't understand the new politics!

I think to make a big point about signing a pledge and then doing the diametrically opposed beggars belief, coalition or no coalition. I'm sick to the back teeth of the whining about not knowing the full extent of the fiasco that is our economy. Vince Cable was celebrated as the best economist the world has ever seen, but he didn't know the state of our finances? Give me a break.
