According to news sources, Cuero, Texas, is not the seat of much action, or at least it hasn’t been until two police officers managed to capture on video some footage of a mythical "blood-sucking" animal known as the Chupacabra. Brandon Riedel was training a new deputy when suddenly something ran down a dirt road before them. At first glance, they thought it was a coyote, but the two men realized it wasn’t as soon as they saw the hairless, short-legged creature’s elongated snout. Riedel told KSAT.com:

"You need to record something like this because it's not everyday you find something that looks like this, running around out in the middle of the county.”

The odd name of the creature comes from its reported habit of attacking and drinking the blood of livestock, especially goats. Physical descriptions vary. Eyewitness sightings have been claimed as early as 1990 in Puerto Rico, and have since been reported as far north as Maine, and as far south as Chile. Most biologists and wildlife management officials view the chupacabra as an urban legend.
