Van Outen hits back at Natalie Cassidy

Denise Van Outen has hit back at Natalie Cassidy after the former EastEnders actress criticised her for returning to work so soon after giving birth.

Cassidy had blasted the presenter for going back to work "after two weeks" and said that "having a child should be your job".

However, Van Outen responded when she saw Cassidy, who gave birth to a baby girl in September, appear in an interview with Lorraine Kelly this morning.

"Natalie Cassidy criticised me for going back to work after having Betsy," she wrote on Twitter. "Natalie's on Lorraine show now promoting her reality pregnancy/new mum show. Isn't that work????

"She said she did the show for money, so yes, that is work. Pot calling!!!!"

She continued: "We put our family picture out to raise money for [Great Ormond Street], she did a family shot and put the money in her pocket."

She ended her "rant" with: "Phew..feel much better now. Must dash,gotta go to work! ....(Kidding!)"

Go on Denise!!

Why does Natalie Cassidy think that anyone wants to watch a reality show of her pregnancy?

I remember when she used to act like that on Big Breakfast, yet school kids would be up at that time watching the show, what a complete berk! Another one of those dimwits that comes from Essex and tries to make out that they are from London, coz they think it makes them sound so much cooler (whatever that is supposed to mean).

All of these women get on my nerves, Tess Daly, Natalie Cassidy and Myleene Klass, doing books, TV programmes etc about babies (like they are the first to have a baby)

and celebrity mum of the year, Holly Willowby (sp) wins it this year, her child is about 2, so how exactly do they know she's a great mum

cause she's managed too feed and change it so far without any harm coming too him

and did they ask him if she was a good mum

I don't mind either but why Natalie Cassidy's should think she's particularly qualified to make her pronouncements on what a good mother should and shouldn't do, I don't know. What is with celebs that they think their opinions on pretty everyday matters are so revelatory, informed and sacrosanct that the rest of the world should even care?

Is it any of Natalie Cassidy's business what another woman does after giving birth as long as Cassidy's doing what she thinks is best for her child and Van Outen is responsibly looking after her child in one way or another?

As Aimee points out all these celebs marketing themselves as the perfect mother in order to flog books and DVDs. I suppose if you intend to milk that media profile, you've got to attack other mothers to give yourself a media profile and credibility.

You can kind of understand that as the mums will have their opinions and thoughts on the other mums' kids' conduct and attitudes that rub off and effect their own kids.

Cassidy, on the other hand should just shut up.

Yes Tess has done the baby thing too

i watched the Natalie programme tonight and i cringed the whole way through it, she had too move out of her London home because of the paps outside her house everyday

seriously who wants too know what she is doing everyday

she then went on too say she wouldn't say where she was moving too as she didn't want the paps following but went on too say she was moving to Hertfordshire too be nearer her family
