My oldest friend's Nan has died,
I have known her since I was 14 and thought the funeral was today. I even checked the e mail this morning to make sure.
When I got to the crem I did not recognise anyone.Someone said hello to me and I acknowledged them.
Then the priest offered to take my flowers to lay on the coffin... I declined as I wanted to put them by the memorial spot myself.
Anyway - I noticed he was a catholic priest by the regalia and my mate's nan was not catholic,
So I asked him if this was O's funeral.
He said it wasn't and I probably needed the other chapel ( there are 2).
So off I trotted - there was no one there at all.... it was deserted
So I thought perhaps I had the time wrong and re checked my email.
Not only did I have the time wrong but the day as well.
It is tomorrow at 12 15 - not today at 12 15.
I then had to do the walk of shame past all these other mourners.
Ah well
