Scrounging git if you ask me. She had the money and is now scrounging off the tax payer to keep her. These are the folk the Govt want to target instead of the genuine infirm.

Zackly. I don't know when she was awarded the compensation, but even today 750k is still a hell of a lot of money if used correctly, not to mention her other earnings. Of course she's entitled to do what she wants with it, but to then go back and get disability living allowance when she's quite clearly capable of jetting round the world, appearing on tv in Big Brother and still show that she's able to do all of these things without the need of assistance, is just a bit too much of a pisstake. The Tories are clamping down on everyone, make her a shining example.

Yep anyone else who got 100s of 1000s of pounds would be expected to give up any benefits or tax credits etc, so she should too.

Cockney chick...benefits pays out on the basis of a persons circumstances at the time & not beforehand....I don't necessarily agree with it...but it is that way for a reason!
IE A director of a company on full whack, whom also lives his life to the extent of his pay...loses his job...he is entitled to the same benefit as any other!...fairplay!

Oh I sorta see what you mean thanks Fern. But the thing is, one of our neighbours won around ÂĢ100K on lottery about couple or three years ago, and she was on incapacity (I think,) and was told she had to come off it, and was not allowed to re-apply for about 10 years, as this was constituted enough encome for that time. the figures and details are not actually 100% accurate, so don't quote me, but it was something like this. So that is why I wouldnt have thought that Jade's mom should not be allowed benefits. I think someone who was on ÂĢ35K wage for 10 years, and lived and paid a mortgage and bills etc, and then becomes unemployed, would be different, to someone who had multiples 10s or 100s of 1000s, and blew it. I don't officially know anything about it really though and am just going on what I know...

the thing is, even if this was the correct figure and they spent that much in under 5 years they could still go to the Benefits Agency and make a claim and it can't be turned down if they can supply evidence of how all that money was spent. Even if it was blown on fast cars and high living, if they don't have a penny at the time of application, they are entitled to claim benefits
