You really have to watch out for these supermarkets. At Tesco today - a 16 pack of Laughing Cow Extra Light cheese triangles - ÂĢ1.88. A 8 pack of Laughing Cow Extra Light cheese triangles - 50p. (not on special offer). I could have bought four packs - 32 triangles - for 12p more than it would have cost for 16 triangles. I just don't get it, I really don't

Mugs! - that's what they take us for
I despair of my local Tesco.
Half of the staff don't seem to want to be there, and appear to regard the customer as an inconvenience.
Very bad management.
The wine department has been altered, and most of the stuff on the shelves now is nasty plonk.

Is Laughing Cow cheese?
That explains the ÂĢ6000 profit a minute.
A few months ago they had fresh tomato sauce at 98p a pot, or two for ÂĢ2
I farted in one today. It was dreadful.

In a pot of fresh tomato sauce???
Never mind. I recently quit my job with them, they're bound to go downhill now!
they sell tins of branston beans for abount 60p each or a 4 pack for 2.98 .... the mind boggles
I don't understand why anyone would shop there.
I love it when you see people rush to the place they are reducing items, and when you look at them they are only marked down 20 or 30p less than the fresher version which has a longer expiry date on it and is less likey to be off. Is it worth it, when it has to be eaten that day?
You think they were given them away the way you see people push in for their bargains.

They don't..I worked for them when I was young, it was the most god awful job I've ever had in my life, just the thought of it depresses me....

I hate Tescos - always have, always will. They have the most patronising catchphrase in the universe.

Not if you're a shoplifter

And the funny thing is most ppl fall for it - can't blame them for doing it really - the more ppl continue to be daft enough to fall for it the more they will do it

They are not all the same. Some are definitely cheaper than others. I wouldn't put Tesco/Asda in the same league as Waitrose or M&S Food.Reference:

Wow pedantic or what - obv they may charge differently but they are all the same when it comes to being money hungry rip off merchants!! M&S being the biggest rip off of the lot!!!!!

I agree. And don't start me on Lidl - that is a terrible place. Reference:

Indeed not! I'd never shop anywhere but Waitrose.

You see I have had a couple of terrible experiences with Waitrose so I would never go there again - but I am so with you on Tescos

Me too. Although I do like Waitrose quality just cannot afford the prices.
Similar thing at Wilkinsons. I bought one packet of interdental brushes that cost ÂĢ1.48 per pack .... At the checkout the assistant told me I could buy three packets for ÂĢ2 ( not advertised )
Now what are you going to buy, 1 pkt for ÂĢ1.48
or three pkts for ÂĢ2 ?

That's kinda the opposite of what the OP was saying - he/she was talking about the special offers actually costing more. eg, 50p for 8 meaning you can buy 16 for ÂĢ1 or pay ÂĢ1.88 for a pack of 16.
