What a great tv channel BBC4 has become.
Some wonderful ballet the other day - Elite Syncopations and The Judas Tree.
A very revealing documentary of Herb Alpert, who is still playing, and who is revealed as a very unassuming and modest man. A shy man.

Tonight they give us an hour of various singer-songwriters, followed by an intimate concert featuring Richard Thompson, Suzanne Vega, and Loudon Wainwright. This somewhat marred for me by the fact that Thompson sings with his eyes closed, which isolates me. I hate it when they don't look at me.
Then the 3rd hour is a repeat of the concert by Carole King and the modest James Taylor.

BBC4  is probably my favourite channel.
