There was a picture posted somewhere, wish i could find it, it may have been in my local paper....it was of a starving child in the gutter and i think the background was of planes arriving. I do wish the athletes well, but the money it has taken to put this on, could, in my opinion, have gone elsewhere. But that could be said about a lot of things..........

Hundreds if not thousands of people were move out of their homes to make way for the games, which have cost a billion I believe.

During the televising of the opening ceremony there were intermittent interviews with some of the athletes. The interviewer (I don't know who she was) asked 2 or 3 of them if they were looking forward to competing!!!!!!

Nah,I'm not that interested in sport in any form.We in Glasgow have the next Commonwealth Games,based in the East End of the city.They will be building the athletes "village" on a once  poor housing site.Most folk have moved out etc,however one "wummin" ain't for shifting.
