I only ask because I went to a Lebanese restaurant last night.

So when I'd had all my choices in the menu turned down because they weren't available, I opted for the the baked veg option. They were all yum. I'm not a veggie but often choose this option and indeed the stuffed pepper and aubergine and courgettes were great!

Except for the stuffed onion! It was horrible!

So I kind of started to wonder.  Is the reason I'd never eaten a stuffed onion was because they tasted horrible or because it must be impossible to empty an onion in order to stuff it and therefore they aren't offered for our delectation?!  I mean, how the hell do you cut up an union in order to empty it out and how doesn't it fall apart as soon as you have?! My onion looked intact apart from a stuffing entry (but it still tasted horrible)!

I don't know. If you'd asked where to stuff the onion I could have maybe been more helpful. Ah. Saying that about how to empty an onion though, I know with the small onions you get in the jar you can somehow take it apart and be left with the outer skin, same with the fish and chip shop larger onions, but as for the type in restaurants, I ain't got a Danny love

A declining area in a bit of London you may be roughly familiar with Karms!

That's the issue. It was the size of a... well... normal onion!

It's definitely a possibility

Ohhhh! You should have asked them. Did you get a discount seeing as they had nothing available except for stuffed veg or a packed lunch with an apple and a kit-kat? (Still rather 3am gobsmacked at that!)

I'm also turning in. I was looking forward to reading how Kerry Katona is broke and moving back up north in OK magazine but now I'm gonna pondering onions and will probably dream of a giant one with lots of legs and arms and big teeth with the insides flying out of it and it's chasing me round the corner shop and it will be all your fault

Gute Nacht!

Remove the stringy outer layers of the onions, then cut off a very thin slice from the root end - just enough to enable onions to 'stand' upright. Cut a generous slice off the top of each onion, then place them in a baking tin. Drizzle with some water and olive oil, cover with foil and bake in a preheated 200˚C oven for about an hour, until onions are tender.

Very carefully remove the centres of baked onions (I used the tiniest teaspoon for that). Make sure to keep the onion bases intact, but there is no need to despair if you fail - just use removed onion layers to cover the hole.

I may have been copying and pasting, again.
