He's around my age too Blizzie.  The reference to recording "The Young Ones" on VHS for the first time made me laugh as that was around the time we got our first VCR and would tape "The Young Ones" and watch it over and over again. I think this is a generational thing but because VCRs were so new, there would be a pleasure in itself watching things over and over again simply because you could and VHS tapes costed the earth!  Maybe that was just my family!

Like Alan Davies, I used to recite bits from "The Young Ones" all the time.  As sad as this no doubt sounds (I was very young), I think at one time I could probably recite almost whole episodes.

People of a certain age and certain politics will identify with this more than others I would guess.  A good trip down memory lane for Alan Davies that avoids all the rather tired and cheesy references to New Romantics, big shoulder pads and mullets.  Despite the self-indulgent nature of its subject a very entertaining program - IMO.
Agree Carnelian, have really enjoyed watching it.

Evening. RZB was telling me much the same on FB the other day

  was he,

I think it was the last one last night, great series, Alan Davis comes across as a good egg,
he can't help his choice of football colours,
I can remember the Poll Tax riots, and only lived 10 minutes from where it all happened, but it always shocks me at the sheer mayhem that took place,
