The other reason she remembers is it was her first few years of teaching and she kept our class for the next year, her memory was amazing for all of the kids in the class not just me, but she was lovely and at the time she awarded me a few books which my mum made me keep to this day! I came from a deprived area and from speaking to her the other day I found out she grew up in the same area so she obviously cared for us a lot. It makes me a bit tearful to think about I'm not kidding. But a privelige to meet again all these years later.

On the way to meet her I didn't know but I felt like I could be friends with her! She was lovely. I remember at school she was very gentle with us, she was only 20 at the time, I remember falling and cutting my knee and she gave me a hug like my mum would!!

Considering my P1 teacher gave me the belt for waiting for my scared pal at the scary outdoor loos this was a look up for me!

She gave me loads of school gossip which I would never have been party to at the time (being only 6)
