To be serious for a moment. All the time zones have to be based on GMT because not everywhere changes their clocks between 'summertime' and 'wintertime
And to be slightly less serious for a moment - there are time zones which are not based on a whole number of hours. For instance Nepal is 4 hours 45 minutes later than we are at present in the UK. India is 4 hours 30 minutes later.So If you are there, it would not be psssible to have the correct time shown for this forum.
