Well all I know is that the first series was shown on one of the Sky channels. Basically, it's a series about a therapist (Gabriel Byrne) and his clients. You see one therapy session a day from Monday to Thursday and then the Friday is him discussing the work with his supervisor. It must be a hit in the States because they're about to start Series 3.

I started training as a counsellor years ago, got up to level 2 and passed it when I realised I have zero tolerance for people. Like, actual people, not certain kinds of people, all people. PULL YERSELS TOGETHER!
You remind me of my boyfriend!

When he was trying to decide which area of psychology to specialise in, he considered counselling. Then he realised that if he had a client threatening to throw themselves off a cliff, he'd be driving them to the nearest one.

BTW Pete don't know if you or anyone you know uses Foursquare or Facebook places? I've just put a link up on my FB from mashable that's worth a read. x
I just went and read that. I don't use Places or Foursquare for that very reason (plus I'm neurotic about just anyone being able to know where I am). Let's face it, I always keep my mobile on silent because I don't like people being able to get hold of me whenever they want!

Don't blame you! I have friends on there that use it and it locates exactly where they are, the name of their road and even the location in the street (and these people have thousands of friends). They are the most ridiculous apps I've seen,  they're designed to keep in close touch with your friends (or some marketing hype bollocks), but whoever uses it may aswell just post their address and daily schedule for everyone to see

Sorry to hijack your fred, just wanted to make sure you knew about it x

Yep, all counsellors have to do that. We call it supervision. Btw, I love Diane Wiest so that's made me even more inclined to get the series.
Dianne Wiest's character was his original supervisor, but they became estranged. He gets back in touch and instigates some proper therapy sessions with her for himself, because his life is quite - errrm - complicated. I won't spoil it for you by saying more.
