I don't think BB set it up that way

You can't ignore the facts.  Chantelle pretended to be shocked at Preston's appearance in the house.  They were first in (apart from Josie) so none of the other housemates have seen Chantelle's pretend shock.  All the housemates are aware that Chantelle and Preston knew they'd both be going in and they'd been in contact for some time before the show began.

Was that really the right thing to be saying to her when it's blatantly obvious Preston isn't at all interested?
I have absolutely no idea why Victor said it. Could it have been to try and shut her up crying all of the time??? Dunno, I'm baffled, having said that I wouldn't be at all surprised if they get back together once they're out of the house. The way it looks to me is that Chantelle is still v much in love with Preston, he isn't in love with her, but still cares for her and is fond of her....he may well settle for that?

Regardless of whether they knew each other were going to be in the show or not, doesn't mean that Chantelle's tears and emotions are not genuine.  She obviously thought she could handle it and she hasn't been able to.  I agree with Super, she is still in love with him but I don't think he is with her but he obviously still cares about her.

As for why Victor said that to her, I am sure that some people have said things like that to their mates in order to make them feel better at the time.  Maybe he genuinely believes what he said?  Who knows

I agree, I think that the most likely explanation is that when they were asked to go in they had a conversation or two about it and decided that they could handle it and it's turned out that Chantelle hasn't been able to do so
Whether they were absolutely certain that the other would be in there who knows, maybe, maybe not? Preston, however can't have been daft enough to think that there would have been a cat in hell's chance that he would be going in if Chantelle wasn't.

I think one of the most telling things Preston said when quizzed by one of the others about why they split up the first time was that neither of them had the same interests at all.. . and once the first flush of 'love' wore off they had nowhere to go and grow together..

it seems to not have changed as he has mentioned this a few times..  [tho not to Chantelle tho] they may try again but, with no real common ground at a deeper level, it just won't work. .

but I suppose tis an income for a bit while they play it out on rags etc..

they did .... cos Preston was drunk the night before and started talking about when he met her and her mum and talked about going on BB....   she had to sssssh him cos he'd gone off track as their story was meant to be that they hadn't seen each other since last year or summat..
