Former Big Brother contestant Nadia Almada has reportedly been rushed to hospital after attempting to end her own life.

The BB5 winner was found slumped in her bathroom on Wednesday following an overdose of prescription drugs and painkillers, reports The Sun.

The 33-year-old - who admitted that she was feeling suicidal after her eviction from the Ultimate Big Brother house last week - apparently told friends: "I want to end it all."

A friend staying at Nadia's council flat is said to have discovered her body and called for an ambulance. She was reportedly kept under medical observation on Wednesday night, after which she was declared fit enough to return home.

A source said: "This is a cry for help. She is very unhappy."

My mate's husband disappeared from home for 2 days and they had to get the police involved. He was suffering from depression, left suicide notes for her and their two young children, took an overdose of voltarol washed down with alcohol and phoned her.
They got him to the hospital who called the emergency outreach team who decided that  he was fine ( he does talk a good talk) and recommended him for counselling through his GP.

A week later he threw himself off a cliff - had quite severe injuries and again the so called experts reckoned he was okay......
He was a danger to himself, he was making all sorts of threats to my friend and in the end it was the police that had to issue some sort of order to stop him going to the house.
He still was not getting the help he needed.
The mental health services in this country are a disgrace.

my mum works for a mental health team, she's only admin, but obviously has to know alot of the procedures and stuff and help the docs get stuff put into place....I was amazed at how  tough it is to actually get someone sectioned...

I also assumed that if you're an attempted suicide that you automatically got psychiatrict treatment...you dont?

No you don't.

My mate had to sort something out - he refused everything, which in itself should have told them something, He was in complete denial - she was put through hell and ended up launching an official complaint against them.

It is a hard job and I am sure they are governed by so much red tapes and rules that it makes it very hard for them to do anything.

Ulrika got paid 5 times more than her thats enough to drive anyone over the edge.

In all seriousness, I hope she is ok. I hope she does whatever is necessary re bb to make herself feel better and realise that the majority of people dont hate her (or whatever seh thinks is the case now after her latest stay in the house) but still do support her.

I am quite shocked that some sort of psychological treatment isn't given to anyone who attempts suicide. Surely, the very fact that someone has tried to kill themselves, indicates the need for counselling.

Isadora, your friends story is really sad. I hope her husband does get the help he needs.

I think there's a thread about it on here somewhere Scotty.

I dont think nadia would milk the sittuation in this way, shes too proud, or whatever you want to call it but id call it proud.

I just think shes just hearing the negative voices at the moment, once she realises shes still accepted by the majority and that she hasn't turned into some hated housemate (the way jade was when she left). Then she will start to gain strength again.

I hope when she does come back, she bounces back stronger and does what she needs with her law thingy against bb to show her side of the story.

Well it had a bit of a Jeremy Kyle ending TBH.
Having told her he couldn't live without her, he decided to make a fresh start and go to stay with his best mate in Yorkshire.
One night he and his mate's wife got drunk and the inevitable happened.

THEN he started seeing one of her friends who was married and next thing we know they are shacked up together and he is not paying any maintainance for his children because he has been off sick from work with depression and is now on half pay.

This has happened in less than a year..
There's nowt queer as folk they say.

I'm sure that anyone who is seriously depressed/suicidal will be offered ongoing support Yogi. It depends on the psychiatric assessment, (which of course, they sometimes get wrong!) If then the person takes that support up is of course voluntary, unless they are sectioned under the mental health act on the grounds that they are serious risk to themselves or others

I hope so Super. I can't help thinking, it all seems a bit hit and miss.
