That was a great conversation, and how skillfull is Venesa in getting them to open up.
Hmmm... Actually, that wasn't the first time Nikki has discussed her eating disorder this series. She had a talk about it earlier with Ulrika. It's just that for some reason that didn't make HLs...

Nikki tends to be pretty open about her Anorexia. Heck, she even wrote a book about it...

I had no idea she had already talked about it , still it is aired now regardless of who she was saying it to. Was her conversation with Ulrika more in depth? Just read your add on, see I never read books written by celebs, I would not have know all that.

I didn't see her chat with Ulrika about it, but I bet Ulrika managed to turn it into being about herself and that men were to blame long live feminism.
I think she was very understanding and supportive as it happens but I don't suppose there's many that will share that view. People have formed their own opinions and whatever she does or says they'll undoubtdly see a hidden agenda!

Soozywoo's right: Nikki was given the space to talk about it herself at length, and she covered pretty-much the same ground as she did with Vanessa. Indeed she even went further on some topics, e.g. about her book, and how Karen Carpenter was her idol.

(BTW, Brian was there too.)

I thought her conversation with Preston and Chantelle was good too. I can't understand why she is accused of talking about herself when she is sharing her own experiences on anything with others.

Because I know Ulrika's general attitude and what she likes to talk about...HERSELF and how evil men are.
TBF, the subtext of a discussion between Nikki and Ulrika about eating disorders went a lot deeper than that. Quite a few HMs have commented about Ulrika's current bodyweight being unhealthy, and seeing it put in the context of what Nikki's been through was rather unsettling, IMO.

I am not a Nikki fan but hearing the conversation between her and Vanessa really touched my heart it made me tearful and has changed my opinion of her,I still dont like her tantrums I think out of all the HMS that have gone into BB she really has been on a tremendous journey,I want Victor to win and I hope he does but  I cant help feel UBB winner would mean much more to Nikki in a way I have never understood before until now.

I feel the same....I posted in the HL thread last night about this conversation as it actually had me in tears, the reason for that is I could identify with everything Nikki said as I too suffered with Anorexia from my early teens to late twenties...it's a hard thing to understand if you've not been through it and it is NOT about the weight, it is a mental issue where your weight is the only thing you can seem to control, though not consciously (sp).

To hear what Nikki had to say was in a way wonderful. I certainly didn't think I was anorexic until many years later when I looked back, my head was straight and I realised I was....to be able to admit it is a huge step...

Anoriexia, as Nikki said, is ALWAYS with you (mentally), I can honestly say, even though I am a healthy weight and I eat healthily and have never felt better, 'it's' always there and it takes a certain amount of strength mentally to know which way your head is going to stop going back there.....if that makes sense....

That conversation was very touching and I applaud her for being so open, and Vanessa for being so sensitive...

I feel it is a bit unsettling when Nikki speaks about having overcome anorexia when it is apparent that she is living with anorexia and is coping quite well at present.

I know what you mean about the coping part, but I also say I have 'beat it', which in my mind I have.......but yes, 'coping well at present' is probably right for Nikki, though you have to admire her for going into BB (twice)  knowing that there'll be no hiding her eating habits etc, so yes, I'd say she's doing very well indeed as I do think Nikki is alot more fragile than I guess I am...

Just watching last night's HL show with Nikki talking to Vanessa.  It's moved me to tears.  What a brave and strong girl to have gone through that as is anyone who has and is still going through it.  It explains alot about Nikki and the way she is.  I used to think this girl would never get a proper job because of her tantrums etc., but listening to her telling Vanessa how she spent 11 years in hospital, missed so much schooling so didn't get any qualifications and had no friends   Yes, she can be selfish and annoying and she throws all these tantrums, but if you look past that you will see what an extraordinary young woman she is.
