Mysterious moving cursor when typing.Help appreciated..

This is my secohand laptop with Vista installed. On the whole it isn't bad but the cursor keeps moving s or 4 words back when I am typing which is annoying to say the least.

For example

I am trying to type fast and the silly thing won't keep still can anyone help me cos I jhave loads of worneek I need to do.

( The words in bold is where it jumped back.

)
Has this happened to anyone else? Or am I just unlucky?

When the cursor on my laptop gains a life of its own I find a very gentle tap on the trackpad sorts it out......

My cursor used to do that, but now it's stopped. I don't know what I did though.

.....Mine goes a bit loopy on the lappy in Gaga but nowhere else

you could be catching the trackpad while you're typing Isa, there'll be an option somewhere to reduce the sensitivity

LOL... the square pad that you use to move the cursor around...

Not sure what everyone calls it

I may have to give that a try -- at least when I am writing important stuff.
