Is it just me or is it sounding a bit `over done` recently - maybe its nervousness but it seems really loud and cackly now, like its fake. Its putting me off her.

That's one of the things that put me off of her. She has always had this horrible fake laugh. Seeing her and Dave the last two in the house both doing their fake laughs was gruesome.
It's very forced and over loud.One mercy is we no longer have the evil monk on screen.
