Isle of Wight - After an evening of flash floods and heavy winds, trees fallen and garden damage the sun is trying to shine today.
Can anyone tell me what the weather is doing in the Sherwood Forest area today? My son is taking his two boys camping there today and he's holding off at the mo cos it doesn't look too good!
Cheers

About an hour away from Sherwood Forest here and the sun is shining after a VERY wet night - but I wasn't expecting the sun today, so not sure how long it will last.

Cheers TBH we are only about an hour and a half away but ...............it can be so different just up the road. I'll just cross my fingers in the hope that they can get the tent up in the dry. I think my boys quite brave taking an eight year old and a two year old on his own.
That's very brave, Soozy - just to let you know the sky has gone very black now -sorry - but as you say, up the road it could be quite different.
I have known it pour down in Lincoln, but not get any rain here 2 or 3 miles away!!

I've not long got in from Shopping (I'm in Birmingham) and it started chucking down at least I missed it and can sit and look at the other wet and bedraggled devils outside with a nice cup of tea and a custard cream
Not too far away from you Pengy and same here, just gone out to go to the bank and Asda and as soon as I got to the petrol station it started raining, it's sort of on and off here in my bit of the West Midlands, but the rain showers are heavy.
So got home and had to get changed as getting out of the car to go to the bank and Asda I got soaked, grrrrr, still mustn't complain if some parts of the country have had the flash floods.
Soozy, hope your son and grandsons are ok and the weather holds out for them.
