There was a Australian guest on BBLB and he said it is seen as a derogatory term in Australia, but also said Davina would not know that and did not mean it in that way..
I didn't know that...I thought it was just banter, like they call us whinging Poms...one thing about our down under cousins is that they usually have a similar sense of humour to the Brits (I find Canadians like that a bit too)

As in, the banter can be harsh but there is a line, cross it at your peril...but the line is usually sportsman like.

I know, mahoosive generalisation there...

I've always thought the Aussies had a better sense of humour then Brits and were just generally more laid back about life in general
I've met a few in my line of work and they really are fantastic people. I wouldn't say they have a better sense of humour than us, if anything it's remarkably similar. Hard to tell from JJ who actually has no sense of humour to speak of at all. They really couldn't have picked a worst representative of Australia.
