Look people it's like this.

That person spent the first part of his life a total degenerate scumbag.
Most people like that, who then become reformed characters and extremely religious - have a contrite quality about them - a certain humility.
Whereas Dave, now that he's "reborn" , is void of this - actually displays an arrogant, patronising attitude towards others. He thinks only his bigoted beliefs are the right ones, and everybody else is just wrong. He laughs at you sarcastically and resentfully if you dare to criticise the book he takes so literally.
He has some kind of self-deluded opinion that he deserves to be kept in more than others - that God is on his side. He deeply believes this is why he has been kept in thus far.
He has been a total backstabber, schemer, and misogynist. Not very Christlike.
Well, I say unto thee, it's NOT a lost cause. GET THE BITCHY PRIEST OUT !
