So what? He has an opinion ...........it's as valid as anyone else's isn't it? At least i recognise him ...................I don;t recognise half the folks on that show ...............who's the pink haired bimbo.

They all have opinions like all of us ..............just because it doesn't always agree with our own doesn't make the opinions invalid does it?

Actually IMO (LOL) if the opinion is morally reprehensible then yes it does make it invalid.

I'm not sure an opinion can ever be invalid on the grounds of it being morally reprehensible, if you think about it.  It can be ignored but it still exists.  If it's conclusion follows logically from it's premises then it is valid.

I managed to catch myself before replying to someone on another thread excusing JJ's behaviour because he was fit. I was going to ask if they would applaud the behaviour of a certain gentleman during world war 2 if he had been 'fit'. It's the most pathetic excuse for forgiving vile behaviour I've ever heard.

My late mother lived in the USA during the time of  the Ted Bundy(College) killings and she could never get over the many women who refused to believe he had killed because he was "cute". Disclaimer: Not comparing John James to an American serial killer.

What would you say defines validity?

I've already said - internal logic.  If it can be said that premiseA plus premiseB could lead to C,D,E or Z or whatever, it has logic and is valid.  To say something is valid doesn't imply agreement nor social or moral acceptability.  At all.

What the hell are we talking about this for?

As 99% of people now walk about with a phone clamped to their ears like they think they are in charge of pressing the nuclear button, someone wants to tell Mr Joly that bellowing into a mobile phone was not funny just disgustingly prophetic.

<begin. I hate mobile phones and most mobile phone users </end>

None of you are that important, seriously NONE of you. *ducks*
