What's a Fatwaa? Were you calling Dave a fat wanker and thought better of it?
I'll leave it at that...

I think you're in the clear.
I'll keep my eyes peeled.

There was a girl in my school called Fatwaa but she spelt it Fatwah. My mate Carmen used to take the piss and say her name was an accident cos what really happened was her mum looked at her when she was born and said 'Look pon the baby, the baby fat waaaaah?!' (said in a Jamaican accent).
I don't think it's fair to expect the Muslims to get involved with Dave...let the Pope's hitmen sort him out

That's unfortunate
A straight answer to a straight question. A fatwa is a religious opinion concerning Islamic law issued by an Islamic scholar. Very rarely, a fatwa calling for capital punishment against an infidel is issued, but it should be pointed out that equating a fatwa with capital punishment is regarded as offensive by many Muslims, not that any offence has been given by the question which is perfectly reasonable.
A fatwa is a sanction. Any Muslim can call for one, but it goes through a 'legal' type process and is decreed by a scholar or cleric. It can vary from culture to culture, the proceedure for getting one issued may be different in Nigeria than it can in Saudi.
This is how it was explained to me by my Islamic social anthropologist friend so it may be different on Wiki
