His comments are based on religion hence he is talking about religion. I see what you are saying, but whichever way you cut it, he is either preaching or having what is mostly a one way discussion of religion.

It's a bit of both really. It's fairly safe to waffle on meaninglessly about it to people who don't really care one way or the other. He's a fraud in more ways than I can count.

I think keever simply wanted to attack everything he said and stood for as soon as he opened his mouth - she was incredibly hostile (I think some people have selective memory on here)It really wasn't surprising IMO that Dave chose not to discuss religion with her - she was hardly open minded and willing to listen to someone elses view was she?

He said he didn't want to discuss religion with "anyone". He wouldn't have had any trouble with Keeva she can barely put a coherent sentence together but he's 100 per cent fake and doesn't know anything at all about religion and it's history so doesn't want to look stupid if people question his beliefs. Hence, preaching utter nonsense absent-mindedly in the garden is as far as he is willing to go.

It comes with the territory, if you're in people's face with your religion and your religion amounts to repetition of brainless happy clappy banalities like 'drunk on the Jesus' and then to top it all, you come over all sanctimonious when it suits.

Totally agree, Dave's religion amounts to what it's done for him and what he claims it can do for others.  Religion for it's own sake, religion as a self help regime, means of control, confidence booster with its own pre-set moral certainties.  Dave's not interested in any philosophical debate about the existance of God or not, because he's built a career and tin pot cult out of marketing religion.
