We've repeatedly seen Ben slagging Mario off recently, and deservedly so. Mario to my mind is a snidey, spiteful, underhand spoiled little prick and Ben seems to finally agree. Why then, five minutes after slagging him off will Ben say 'oh you know I love you really Mario' I mean what is the f*cking point in that?

I've got to say I'm of the opinion Ben pretty much deserves most of what he gets. If he just told Mario to sod off and left it at that I'd have more respect for him. As it stands with his continued fawning all over him despite the way he treats him I think they probably deserve each other. Two complete and utter morons, in a pod.

I don't find it confusing; I find it fascinating.
An interesting dynamic in the house (compared to many others.)
I believe they both know where their relationship is; what level it is pitched at; what they both derive from it. I think they have an understanding.

A bit like "I don't want him, but I don't want anyone else to have him either."
They can be nice and critical almost at the same time.
What we see is how it's played out on the surface which causes it to see more heartless.
I don't think either of them are nasty.
I remind myself it's Big Brother and try not to take it too seriously.
But I like the strange nature of the Mario/Ben relationship.
They are not conning each other.

Mario nominating Ben while pretending to be his best friend in the house is not a 'con'?
No.   They will all be doing the same thing from now onwards. It's how the game is played.
(At least it has been  in every other series I have watched.)
They all do what they think it takes to win.
Sorry Prometheus, we'll have to agree to disagree, because I don't think Mario is nasty and I like him.
But that does not mean that I don't like you.
