This is a repeat of Brisket's posted link from a week ago. I had solved the first two hidden messages and have just solved the third.

These are the 3 puzzles for you to think about.

Hidden Message #1

This is one for the internet geeks out there. 'Anonymous' has been in touch:

'I've emailed you a little message. A little game to play. I do like games.' And he has, indeed, emailed me.

Obviously, it's a secret code. See how you get on. I'll post the solution later in the week.

'Anonymous' has been in touch again. Thanks to those who worked out his first message. Obviously, I am terrified. This is their second email:

These are not particularly difficult. You can check that you have solved these on the website, but please don't post the answers here in case others want to have a go.

I thoroughly enjoyed last night's episode and loved the cliffhanger. They must make another series.

El Loro, I'd be a useless code breaker, it's all Double Dutch to me.

I can now reveal that the unaired pilot of Sherlock which will be included in the DVD release is another version of A Study in Pink. That's per the BBFC classiciation listing issued today. Though this version may be very different as according to the cast list per IMDB this includes Gemma Chan who of course appeared in The Blind Banker. Time will tell.

I really hope they make this a primary programme and I can't believe I'm saying this  ahead of Dr Who!

I'm a really big Dr Who fan but I can't abide Matt Smith as the Dr   so I'm hoping that it's put on the back burner as Smith has said he's going to resign after the next series.  That leaves the way open for more Sherlock 

It is comparatively rare these days that a new series comes along which instantly impresses itself as a notch or two above the rest.
Being Human and Sherlock are, for me, two such programmes.
It is very nice to be able to praise programmes. It doesn't happen often enough.
It seems inevitable that there will be more Sherlock. It has been so well received.

The 3 coded messages are fairly simple. The second is the easiest and it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes at most to solve. The third looks complicated, but looking at it may reveal a pattern. It does not need a computer to solve it. The first is a bit more complicated, but I realised what type of coding had been used as there is a helpful clue to anyone who is used to cryptography. That is the only one where I did use Excel to save time by using the CODE and CHAR functions, and probably takes longer to solve than the other 2 messages.But enjoy it over a salad.

I'll take your word for it.
I will not attempt them, I know my limitations.

Updated Sherlock 'will be back'

The BBC's modern update of Sherlock Holmes will return following the end of its initial three-episode run, its producers have confirmed.

"There will be more," producer Sue Vertue told the BBC's Breakfast programme. "We're having a meeting to talk about how many and when."

Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman as Watson, Sherlock has been a ratings hit for BBC One.

More than seven million people tuned in to see Sunday's dramatic cliffhanger.

Based on stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the 90-minute specials were written by Mark Gatiss, Stephen Thompson and Steven Moffat.

Moffat - lead writer and executive producer on Doctor Who - said there would "definitely" be more instalments in the future.

"Steven and Mark are very busy - Steven is obviously doing Doctor Who as well - so it's just when we're going to do them," said Vertue.

Moffat, her husband, also confirmed that any future instalments would remain 90 minutes long.
