Me and Demantoid got our hammies at the same time,and chattered about them. I know she's lost two of her four Dwarf hammies.Ah well, he was an old boy.

Aww so sorry Katty....for such little things they have huge personality, I know when Allen pops his little clogs I'm going to be inconsolable....

I could never face getting a hamster as I am hopeless when they go.

Aww ta,I knew it was coming he was getting more doddery by the week,but he was still eating, pooing,he even went on his wheel for a last few spins the day before...gulp.

It is heartbreaking when you lose a pet,I have lost many over the years and am always devestated.....Thinking of them all at Rainbow bridge is very comforting..all my dogs, guinea pigs,rabbits, and hamsters will be there for me....and for you too....

He was our fifth Syrian hammy Lal,We got out first for my nieces' 10th  birthday she'll be 23 in August.
Oh gawd I'm dreading the rabbits going.Rio is six and half now getting on  for a bunny.They average about 8.

We had two cats called Jake and Elwood, they were rescues and already named so we didn't bother changing the names.
Sadly they both passed away over the last two years (Jake was 18 and Elwood 19) but whenever I saw you mention your Elwood I thought of them.

Aww thank you all.I know some folk think it was only a little furry,but they are still little characters.Next week we go on another hamster search!

My younger cousin ,who is now 24 years old and built like a brick house and is a door person /security guy,blubbled when his old dog called "Ruffles" a Bichon Frise had to be put to sleep over 6 weeks ago aged nearly 17.

Just to point out "Jake" and "Elwood" were the "Blues Brothers" one of my fav films...So I  need a worthy "Jake" soon.

Gawd I knew my "NO more hamsters " resolve wouldn't last.I have the big cage all the toys,food etc,Me and my niece are hammy hunting  this Friday.

Oh and to put a tin lid on it I got stung by  a  wasp(I think) yesterday too.I was talking to my neighbour in the garden and felt a sharp needle sting  on my upper inside arm.OUch I thought I've been bitten etc,flicked  away whatever,then noticed the usual white lump with red pin prick centre.Dabs of vinegar,then some HC45.24 hours later I  have a large red patch on my arm,(well an inch square)

Mr Blizz was stung today.

I wouldn't mind  Blizzie ..I save the buggers etc ,Capture and release if they are indoors.However  I   think this one was lazy and it got between my arm and and my side.Damn! if I  saw it I wouldn't have moved.little barstwered!. There's the thanks for saying don't swat them...

I knew he was getting old and had had a few health issues, but it's always a wrench, isn't it? I remember you posting about him when you first got him - his long fluffy 'skirts' and how pleased you were when he became tame. He obviously had a great life, and a long one!

My remaining ancient two are still truckin' on. Motley is looking pretty geriatric these days, but Gray still thinks she's a nipper, even though she's about two-and-a-half!
