Big Brother to stage Jedward performance in the house...

X FACTOR twins Jedward are set to enter the Big Brother house during Friday’s eviction show.

John and Edward Grimes will perform for the housemates as part of this week’s shopping task.

The plan was last night confirmed by telly chiefs and is a BB first.

A show source said: “Love them or hate them, Jedward are hilarious to watch and they’re bound to boost the ratings.

“As it’s the last series, producers are doing everything they can to make the Friday night shows unmissable – and with the twins performing, this week’s eviction will be just that.”

Jedward were tipped to enter Celebrity Big Brother in January. But they were reportedly banned from taking part by music mogul Simon Cowell, 50, despite rumoured offers of up to £300,000 from Channel 4 bosses.

Jedward’s latest single – a cover of Blink 182’s All The Small Things – was set to miss out on a place in the Top 40 tonight.

And it is thought they were keen to enter the house in a bid to boost sales of their debut album, Planet Jedward, which is released this week.

The 18-year-olds said last night: “We’re extremely honoured to be the first people in the show’s history to go into the Big Brother house to do a performance.

Some more info... PEJ said on DS that the hms shopping task this week would involve bizarre happenings in the house (e.g. evicted housemates sitting at the smoking bench, friends and relatives suddenly appearing in the house....) and to pass the hms have to completely ignore them.

I never knew what their surname was. "Grimes" is surprisingly apt though of course John and Edward Excrement would be even more appropriate .

If they do this, they will risk walkouts......Steve is already close to leaving to be with his family apparently and this task might push some over the edge.
I think it borders on cruel......why can't we have fun tasks?!!

Sorry Fairfax I think they have not a single iota of talent between the pair of them. Can't sing, can't dance and they have hair that's even more ridiculous than Ben's. I can't stand them and absolutely will not watch the programme if they're anywhere near it.

It does Dame Ann, however this seems a rehash of a BB USA task.. I don't watch it but heard that the housemates had a task where they had to ignore lots of things and there the gameplayers do shine, they can create alliances and cliques.

I think they've copied this from the US or Australian BB. I remember someone here posting something very similar to this saying it happened somewhere else. They must have nicked the idea.

Actually, this is what bothers me most about the whole plan for Friday. I know Friday's second show is extended, but even with that, I can't see how they'll be able to squeeze in two interviews and a Jedward performance.
Look at previous Friday shows: the organization has been very poor, with both Sunshine and Ife getting curtailed interviews. It would be outrageous if two evicted HMs (possibly long-timers) get their interviews cut short just so we can "enjoy" a Jedward performance...

When I think of all the really talented youngsters out there who can't get a look in and this couple of brain dead muppets are given a chance my blood boiled. Anyone who says they are entertaining and purports are encouraging the mediocre .

Well at least they're not going around causing trouble on the streets

. I agree that other teenagers can't get a look in but people who have met the Twins, even some who said they couldn't stand them have said that they're really nice and have a lot of time for their fans.. they deserve criticism but I do think some of the abuse is out of proportion

Apparently Jedward's work rate is second to none, so it's not as if they don't work hard for what they have achieved. Talentless in terms of singing ability for sure, but obviously talented entertainers, hence the fanbase.

I don't particularly like them, but I think they deserve it, based on how hard they work for it.

Their agent tells them where to go. They go, stand around like a couple of twats and make a lot of noise then go back to a nice little hotel room.
Do they really know what hard work is? I somehow doubt it.
And no one is forcing them to do all this...they could give up tomorrow, the world of entertainment would survive somehow.
They are an offence to the senses.

but, I am not sure having all this coming and goings is good for the HMs. There seems to be a lot of strangers walking through the house to boast ratings, which doesn't say much for the HMs who are in there already. If, BB doesn't think they are carrying the show maybe they should get rid and bring in new HMs.
