(Sky+ it in the hope that they'd do Virginia Plain too).
Virginia Plane and Love is the Drug.

Nice way for Wossy to bow out ....his little farewell speech was rather touching too IMO. I know he's universally unpopular but I have a soft spot for him. In actual fact - I seem to be universally out of kilter with the majority of folks on here with my likes and dislikes but .........it's what keeps a forum interesting isn't it?

Couldn't stand Brian Ferry as a person, then and now....but what a voice!

Loved their early stuff, ....Mother of Pearl still in my top ten best songs ever

Plus when i was a kid the world was split into two groups, the Bowie/Roxy lovers  and the Osmond/Cassidy/Baycity roller fans......the latter were really uncool and probably grew up to be the JJ supporters of the world

I like Roxy Music but only really for their 70s stuff. It's a hell of a long time since they did anything of interest. Bryan Ferry is a bit of a tosser these days. Wasn't he involved in some sort of 'Nazis looked really cool' controversy thing a few years ago or am I completely confused?
I agree. They were fantastic in the seventies, then they brought out that Avalon type material and it was all downhill after that. TBF Ferry was analysing the "Nazi"look from an art school background point of view. One has to admit that the whole "Gestalt" was an absolute marketing and propaganda success, not that it takes much to impress simpleton Bavarians. Before anyone slags off Ferry I hope that they check their bathrooms and wardrobes for Hugo Boss* material, otherwise they may appear rather silly. Ferry's only crime is that he is a Geordie.

* Other firms who supplied the Nazis are still available.

Oh God... I don't know where to put myself.... I liked Bowie AND Cassidy.    That probably accounts for why I like JJ some days and want to punch his lights out on others?

A few years ago someone gave us tickets to see him at Newcastle City Hall. Was so crap we left before the first 1/2 was done. Thank god I hadn't actually paid for the tickets.
Oh i'm glad to hear that...I was thinking of going to that concert, but didn't want to put money in a fox hunting supporter's hands, even though I loved the band

(oh sorry for you though Cinds )

glad it wasnt just me then - could have been the same tour but a different venue - the worst live show I have ever seen - he really should stick to just recording and selling albums - he just cant do live - he slumped over the mike - muffled and slurred into the mike - looked like he had slept rough for a few months and was completely out of it for most if not all of the show

a couple of weeks later I went to the same place to see Hot Chocolate - brilliant show and as good if not better live than on  album
