I'm not an avid film watcher, but enjoy a good movie. I am flying on holiday on Friday and am wondering which film FMs would recommend to watch on the plane - these are the ones that BA are showing on my flight, and the only one I have heard of is Alice in Wonderland!! I like most genres, so I'm leaving it in your hands!!

I'd go for Alice in Wonderland because of the Johnny Depp/Tim Burton input. It's always brilliant when those two collaborate
I haven't seen any of them btw but the first Nanny Mcphee was quite entertaining too

I wonder what the 3D extravaganza 'Alice in Wonderland' would look like on a teeny weeny screen. I'd watch 'Valentine's Day'....I always catch up with a good mindless rom/com chick flick when I'm flying
Maybe I will have time to watch both, suzy!!
We watched Alice in Wonderland at the weekend...it was good...go for that.

6 hours
So watch them both then.
Alice in Wonderland and a nice, mindless romcom
Some brief details of the above films other than Alice and Nanny PcPhee which are well known.
Valentine's Day (12 cert) is a romantic comedy from Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman) about some bickering couples who get together on Valentines Day
Green Zone (12 cert) is a thriller set in a war setting based on the search for weapons of mass destruction. As this is directed by Paul Greengrass it should be good but not light entertainment
I Love You Philip Morris (15 cert) is a gay romantic comedy starring Jim Carey and Ewan McGregor
The Losers (15 cert) a revenge thriller - no well known top flight actors, though Idris Elba is in it
Date Night (15 cert) another romantic comedy with Steve Carrell and Tina Fey
Ondine (12 cert) which is an Irish set fantasy about a fisherman who finds a woman in his net. This is from Neil Jordan - although his work is variable, if this was being shown on television I personally would give this one a go - it could either so-so or a real gem.

It's got to be Date Night then, with the magnificent Tina Fey

oh hellllooooo! Suddenly this one is looking good! mmmmmm Ewan McGregor mmmmmmmmm
I find on a flight you need something light hearted as there is so many distractions going on, it his hard to concentrate on anything heavy.

That'll do me just fine!! *swoons*Thanks, el loro for going to all that trouble
Moomin, I hope you enjoy The Losers. I should of course said "well known top flight actors" but I missed out the known bit as I was running late. Idris Elba certainly has the potential to become one, but as far as I know so far his main successes have been in television rather than film. I never saw The Wire, partially because of its daily scheduling which made it impossible for me, and its subject matter was not appealing to me, but I did see Luther where he gave a magnetic performance.
