I agree with that woman on the news who wanted to ban football

I like that...very Jean-Jacques Rousseau (and what a bleeding hypocrite he turned out to be!). I'm not having a go at you DS, I'm just saying that things could be an awful lot worse. Jaw Jaw can make make war war, and it can make for peace where we are all free to go about our business without treading on toes or maiming/killing others for a belief or principle.Reference:

i agree with you there. but if people remain complacent about the status quo and stop questioning government bullshit, they will undoubtedly become that way .
Can we repeal Squatters' rights, before Shabby gets out?

We wont America supposedly started from scratch and it's taken them a couple of centuries to elect a mixed race President. It will be, as it has always been in the UK, a work in progress. And progress is good IMHO.
i think they should repeal the law that says' to get the best out of workers you have to pay them millions, and give them bonuses, but to have a competitive business you have pay your, lowly paid workforce as little as possible and rip up their company benefits ,where ever possible'

of course the one forward step of electing one man from a previously unelectable race has to be balanced with the backwards step of the erosions of the freedoms of millions with their "Patriot Act" which many just lap up because it has the word Patriot in the title even though it is anything but about making their country a proud place to be associated with Is the US progressing in a good direction towards this elusive concept of "freedom"? highly debatable, but I think not ! which brings me back to my original post - Just because it says Freedom on the packaging don't assume there's freedom inside the box
I'm not even going to pretend I understood your last post DS. But it was a a good point, well made.
