I'm not one to interfere normally and I love a good piece of gossip, but honestly I would be really careful in naming names until something comes out... stuff can be accessed really easy on the internet and I would honestly hate anyone to face any sort of trouble because of this thread and the names already mentioned.

Having said that I have read on DS just that the person concerned, will be arrested when he returns to this country, not on false pretences of calling himself a footballer but the other reasons that are mentioned in this thread.  I will also say here and now that if the allegations are true both concerning the footballer and his wife, it really doesn't surprise me at all, I have always felt that he is not as nice a person as the media have been desperate to portray him and his wife.

Please don't think I'm having a go at anyone here, I just don't want anyone to face potential problems regarding this story.

Can't see it would get to a personal FM level tbh, at worst the mods would be asked to remove the relevant threads/posts. But even that's a long shot given it's being discussed openly on the net, they'd have to trawl through hundreds of pages I would imagine, and then I think they would only bother with mainstream/known sites as opposed to what would be miniscule sites like this in comparison (no offence Gagajoyjoy!)

Fair points, just would hate to think anyone would get any problems with naming names, I've read a couple of things elsewhere and the person concerned is not actually being named, so I thought I would stick my nose in.

I hope it's not true, coz if it is it's messy!! My father reminded me that one of the last times the entire press corps respected someone's wishes and imposed a gentlemanly embargo on news reporting was when Sir Alf Ramsey died. His family requested that the news be kept from the public domain for a short while, and it was so it is possible, and football related too 

Okay...now this internet rumour may have been the work of an Evertonian (like Strike...but not accusing Strike) but it has now entered my computer illiterate mother's domain! Seeing as the only modern technology she has embraced is chip and pin for her Amex card, it's not looking good PR wise for Gerrard.

If it turns out there's been a worldwide gentleman's agreement to keep the lid on this story in deference to the England football team, I'll eat my hat, puke it up, eat that too then wolf down the resulting turd for good measure. 

The only possible reason - if the original story has any truth - would be out of respect for the girl if she was a minor at the time.  If he knocked her up.  If she even exists.

Well...I've now heard further rumours regarding  this...


It seems that part of the problem with England a the WC was cos Terry and Gerrard kicked off cos Terry was angry that he was so villified for what he did and Gerrard had seemed to get away with getting the 16 year old pregnant...apparently they came to blows and it ended up with the London players and the Northern players not speaking.
