Using the expression "drawing parables" can sometimes be correct, though he probably means parallels. Jesus used parables in his teachings where he would tell a little story such as the prodigal son or the good samaritan, drawing from these stories a life lesson in such a way that his listeners would take notice rather than just lecturing them.

Think you've taken this the wrong way El Loro, I wasn't having a go at you, (hence the  and the ,) nor, do I imagine, was Kaytee. The point was, people know what 'parables' and 'parallels' are, Alex got muddled up, hence the thread re his malapropism. Like I said, presumably you didn't see the show... so that's maybe where the confusion arose?
