slice it fine and then layer it with chopped apples , onions, nutmeg, salt and pepper and some white wine vingegar.
Cook it in a slow oven for about 1 1/2 hours.
Scrummy and you can freeze it.
It is fab with bangers, mash and gravy.

You wouldn't know where to start!
It would seem recipe suggestions are not acceptable here at the moment bateman.
However, I would venture red cabbage on a rotisserie on a stick would seem to be the best advice from others. Me? I'd just say borscht.

I would slow cook it with a couple of lamb shanks, red wine, lamb stock and an ickle bit of cinnamon - gorgeous!

Join the Beetroot thread in the Lounge and compare the delights or otherwise of Red Cabbage versus Beetroot. In the Red corner we have Red Cabbage and in the Red corner we have Beetroot. Shake hands - no punching below the belt - Ding - Round 1.
I am interested in your red cabbage conundrum bateman
personally, i would carve the face of jesus in it, sneak it back onto the shelves of Tescos or wherever you bought it from, then sit back and await the media frenzy with a nice cup of tea
