Aw Soops...   its not a thin line.. I promise!     I didn't laugh at it..
I didn't mean you Ditty! I probably didn't say it very well, what I meant was that, v sadly some folk take the view that it's okay to slap/hit//punch etc.a child, (or indeed an animal or another adult/partner,) when they 'deserve' it for a perceived wrong doing, also that physical abuse is usually justified on some level by the perpetrators because the victim is seen as 'bad' or as 'naughty' in some way. Yes, a child needs to know right from wrong and their should be consequences for certain behaviours, but, not imo physical punishment, in any circumstances...So, although I didn't see the programme, and however disliked Ben is as a character, I just don't 'get' why some people would think it was funny.

I've been about Ditty, must have just missed you, I'm good, and you?
Am ok ta Soops.  Have a cyst on my spine which is trapping a nerve & causing me untold pain in my arm....   but have got a vast array of painkillers, and today I got my initial appointment with the surgeon (hopefully he will then give me a date for when he will operate to remove the cyst)....

That wasn't a whinge... I considered putting  "ok thanks" as a response... but it would have kinda been a lie...

I gotta go pick up the boy now (one of the very few things I can do still is drive!)

oooh... I nearly missed this post altogether (curse of the last post on the page)  ...

...  but I have to go get my boy!

I agree with what you're saying...  but I also understand ... for want of a better way of putting it...  bad/dodgy humour.

Ben is such a bad actor. I think that's why I hate the character so much. That as well as the fact that he's just a nightmare and I'd hate to have a kid like him - enough to put me off ever having kids in my life.
It's good comedy though, it was funny when Phil lamped him one, but it was even funnier tonight seeing Ben go 'you need slapping down' to Jordan. Bloody hilarious, some of the worst acting I've seen

Eastenders is far fetched. Nobody will question the fact that Ben as now got a black eye. It was like last week when Louise was locked in the shed everybody kept saying "She will be wagging school don't worry" She is an 8 year old. If I got a phone call from the school saying my 8 year old wasn't in school I would be calling the police.
