How do you clean your glass?

How do you make your glassware clear and sparkly.
I include windows too, but I mainly mean mirrors.
I have a mirror which from time to time shows a "bloom" on it.
I don't think it is to do with the silvering behind the glass.
How do you get rid of your bloom? (I don't mean your own lovely natural bloom on your skin; I mean the bloom on your mirror.)

They do say wash with vineger and dry with newspaper.

I prefer to get someone else to do it.

I always struggle to get windows and mirrors to be smear free.

For windows and mirrors I use vinegar in water, some use newspapers to then dry them which really helps with removing smears, also vinegar is cheaper than the other stuff

For windows you definitely need a rubber blade.
I can now also reveal that **sings** "One thousand and one cleans a big big carpet for less than half a crown!"

some cloths do leave smears but the combination of the vinegar and newspaper seems to eliminate that

I add fairy liquid to water, use a dishcloth wring 'til almost dry and like GJ says use a rubber blade to dry........'voila' gleaming streak free windows and mirrors....ooh forgot to add wipe edges of windows with good old kitchen towels!!!.......

I'm not sure what's meant by a 'bloom' .............I agree with vinegar for streaks and smears but ....what's meant by a 'bloom'?

Vinegar cleans and cuts through any grease that maybe on the mirror,the newspaper polishes the mirror and gets rid of the bloom or smudges.Soda crystals can be added to the water instead of vinegar.

I'm reading all your tips with interest - I've tried most of them and have come to the conclusion that it's nigh on impossible to get smear-free glass.

Oh yes it is Miss S,mine are smear free.If you have used commercial products before it takes a while to get all of it off.Then you are home and dry so to speak.

I've spent a bloody fortune over the years .... but even the old vinegar/newspaper trick doesn't work for me.. maybe I am just not applying enough elbow grease!

I use those vinegar based window and glass wipes, (M+S or windolene) then kitchen roll, (not as often as I should!

Dunno if this has been suggested yet (cos I aint read the thread) but I've been told never clean your windows when it's sunny cos it they will always smear.
Newspaper is ace, but then again some glass cleaning products are fab too.Or just get someone else to do it.

Normal glass cleaner and wipe down with decent kitchen roll, works a treat...

There's a 'magic cloth' on sale at supermarkets. You wet it, wring it out and use. It really is magic. It's a bigger version to the one you get to wipe your telly screen.
Like damp dusting, and never leaves streaks. It's brilliant!
