So it's finally here and I've gone and voted.
On the news this morning, they said that because a lot of postal votes hadn't yet arrived, they were expecting a lot to arrive today either through the post or taken to polling stations. They think that this is likely to make the announcements of results some what later than in previous elections.

Anyway I thought we could have our own exit poll for those who wish to show which party they actually voted for.

GJ, I don't know where you live, but isn't there a risk that if squiggle lives in a different area then by not voting, your votes could possibly be the one which tips the balance in favour of another party?

Our village polling station seemed quite a bit busier than in previous years. I'll be interested to see what the turn out will be.

I took my little grandson (aged two) with me. I gave him his own pen and a piece of paper so he could make his cross (kiss as he likes to think of it) for Gordon

I finally voted Lib Dem, because I think they have a far better chance of unseating our Labour MP than the Conservatives, and because they have always been completely opposed to the invasion of Iraq.

My two sons are voting conservative too Yogi, as has my husband. So luckily all our votes will count.

Took middle son down to vote. Apparently, he voted Conservative, too.

My son and I voted Labour, my daughter(who got a letter from Gordon when I didn't) and hubby voted Liberal....we may have cancelled each other out but all of the votes from this household were used

And as the ballot stations close their doors I can announce our exit poll results are as follows:

Labour will get 434 seats, Conservatives 99, Lib Dems 91, and Other 26 seats.

And now I'll go and watch the new series of Medium - Alison DuBois is one who will already know the actual result!
