Stanley Tunick is up in the Manchester area doing one of his shoots of hundreds of naked volunteers in order to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the opening of the (matchstick man) Lowry gallery. The photographs will be shown at the gallery as part of the celebrations.

This is a link to the BBC news article. Warning that this article contains one photo showing from the back some of the volunteers. The vast majority of people will find this totally inoffensive, however this forum's rules prohibit me from including this here.

I'm surprised that no-one has sussed him out yet. Imagine if I herded all the Forum ladies into the Tony Blair thread, asked 'em to take off their clothes, took photos, and told 'em it was art.

Indeed! I can't imagine anyone being able to handle being by that river even in July. However I'm going to the Sage late July so I'll give it a whirl, as it were.

Very little. But there is a strong link between the work of Stanley Tunick and L S Lowry in that both use large crowds of people, normally at a distance in a way that the people become part of the landscape.
