No, I don't miss licking stamps. But then apart from the standard 1st & 2nd class stamps, whether standard letter or larger than A3 size, the other stamps still have to be licked. And then of course, there are envelopes, many of which require to be licked. I remember one batch of envelopes where the taste was so vile I had to rinse my mouth each time I licked an envelope - the taste left a burning sensation!

@ Renton, Fine thanks, hope you are well also.

VHS players ? I still have one lol.

My first car was an Escort MK2, giving my age away a bit there.

And.. Tony Hart rocked

@ Brisket Poor quality adhesive is an issue I have at the moment, specifically finding decent masking tape, paint keeps leaking under the rubbish stuff I'm using atm.

@ Avalon, well congrats again, the problem is that it can lead to harder stuff.. could you really afford a penny black addiction ?

Well that's lovely.

Last year was a very trying year it's true but 2010 I decided I had to try to make a new life, what else is there to do when your life as you knew it goes down the tiolet ?

So... I've since been on a road to self discovery which can be both painful and rewarding but I think essential.

This has gotten very heavy for a thread on stamp licking lol.

But thanks again.

You may have a problem
Comrade, I did at one time, but I conquered it. Unaided by professional help, I was able to conquer my addiction and turned to one of the other posters methods, that of wetting my finger under the tap first, then using my finger on the envelope. Eventually I finished that batch of envelopes and I was able to resume my normal practice. However, more often than not I now use self adhesive envelopes. But that's not as much fun.
