Coronation Street producers have kept fans in the dark by reportedly filming two endings for the murder trial of Gail MacIntyre.

Shoppers in Bradford watched as alternative storylines were played out in the city's Centenary Square, according to The Bradford Telegraph and Argus.

In one scene Gail, played by Helen Worth, emerged from the building with her mother Audrey (Sue Nicholls) and sons David (Jack P Shepherd) and Nick (Ben Price). They ran to a waiting cab hotly pursued by reporters and photographers to give the impression that the character was acquitted.

A second version saw David, Nick and Audrey emerge from the City Hall looking upset - suggesting that a guilty verdict was returned.

Gail has been framed for the murder of her husband Joe, whose body was found in the Lake District. Fans will have to wait until the sumer to find out her fate.
