...Thousands of people are stranded abroad because of this volcanic ash cloud and lots of the reports seem to be about school parties, marooned everywhere from mainland Europe to Shanghai.

Pupils and their teachers are all whining about how the delay is going to affect their studies, and how they're going to miss crucially important exams, etc.

Which begs the question - if their exams are so important, how come they were off jollying around the globe over Easter instead of at home, revising?

One of the presenters on our local radio station this morning was going on about how his sister was stranded abroad *can't remember where*  think it was Africa and that she was pregnant and and by Wednesday she is at the time where she can't fly (why would you want to fly that close to your time) and she wanted special treatment for her and her husband cause his passport runs out tomorrow

God no! i couldn't stand the man. I may have been a know it all teen but he was straight out of teacher training and contradicted himself constantly. In one sentance he would say in georgraphy there is no right or wrong answer as long as you can explain your answer. Then he would ask a direct question, and if you didn't answer what it said in his teaching manual it was wrong!

I did drag a certain boy with me though
