At 12.00 BST today, the Hadron collider reached its' full potential by smashing protons 3.5 times faster than ever before. The scientists say that it will be well over a year before any scientific findings are announced, but it would appear that the scaremongerers who forecast that the world would come to an immediate end have proved wrong.
