Sadly I think there is a dearth of good speakers in the Commons.
There is a distinct shortage of good orators.
There are very many boring ones.
There are those who seem unable to speak without having their nose stuck in their script, and the result is often unemotional, dull and boring.
The last Speaker of the House (Michael Martin) and the current speaker (John Bercow) have both adopted the rather silly and mock-idiosyncratic affectation of saying
"O...o...o...o...order."
What is wrong with "Order".
But no they feel they must say "O-o-o-o-order."
The most soporific of the lot for me is Jack Straw.
It would be hard to find a less fluent speaker.
